By applying for TCBA membership you agree to our Code of Ethics as stated below. Membership in this Association shall be limited to those individuals, firms, partnerships or corporations, who shall subscribe to the Code of Ethics of this Association, abide by its Bylaws and any amendments hereto and who shall have demonstrated to the satisfaction of the Membership Committee and the Board of Directors as to their business and professional competency, reliability and conduct. a. Home ownership can and should be within the reach of every American family. b. American homes should be well designed, well constructed, and well located in attractive communities, with educational, recreational, religious and shopping facilities accessible to all. c. American homes should be built under the free American enterprise system. To achieve these goals, we pledge allegiance to the following Code of Ethics: a. Our paramount responsibility is to our customers, our community and our country. b. Honesty is our guiding business policy c. High standards of health, safety and sanitation shall be built into every home. d. Members shall deal fairly with their respective clients, employees, subcontractors and suppliers. e. As members of a progressive industry, we encourage research to develop new materials, new building techniques, new building equipment and improved methods of home financing, to the end that every home purchaser may get the greatest value possible for every dollar. f. All sound legislative proposals affecting our industry and the people we serve shall have our informed and vigorous support. g. We hold inviolate the free enterprise system and the American Way of Life. We pledge our support to our associates, our local, state and national associations and all other related industries concerned with the preservation of legitimate rights and freedoms. h. We assume these responsibilities freely and solemnly, mindful that they are part of our obligation as members of the National Association of Home Builders. i. We intend to promote our members within the building industry and encourage all members of our Association to do business with other members, including developers, subcontractors, material suppliers and affiliate members of the Association. k. We seek to establish and promote sustainable construction methods which further Green Building techniques and sustain and preserve the ecology and environment within our Jurisdiction and all geographic areas in which our members perform construction.
