The Sales Manager sells fabricated roof and floor trusses and components and related supplies or services. Responsible for the development and performance of all sales activities. Manages the sales team and supporting operations required to implement the organizational sales strategy, drive revenue growth, and accomplish financial goals in line with company vision and values. Establishes plans and strategies to expand the customer base in the marketing area and contributes to the development of training and educational programs for clients and Sales Representatives. This position adheres to and practices core values of ownership, passion, honesty, and respect in every facet of the position.
Reports to: VP of Sales
Responsibilities:
• Works with VP Sales to develop annual sales budget.
• Assists in the development of annual business plan and sales strategy for the market that ensures attainment of company sales goals and profitability.
• Builds effective sales and support teams through recruiting, mentoring, performance and development to ensure a culture of continuous improvement.
• Manage and prioritize sales activities, ensuring timely follow-up, accurate forecasting, and effective pipeline management.
• Initiates and coordinates development of action plans to penetrate new markets.
• Works closely with VP Sales and Estimating to develop and execute pricing strategies and align with business objectives.
• Reviews bids and job activity.
• Review and approve weekly timecards and Paid Time Off (PTO) requests.
• Reviews periodic sales reports (generated by CRM and Sales Reps).
• Monitor AR.
• Develops and delivers compelling sales presentations to potential clients showcasing the value proposition of our products.
• Participates in meetings, presentations and demos to support or close strategic or high-value sales.
• Coordinate and conduct quarterly meetings including agendas and content.
• Conducts 1st review of quarterly commissions and gains VP sign-off.
• Conducts one-on-one monthly meetings with Sales Representatives to gather feedback on what’s working wellor where general company assistance is required.
• Conducts one-on-one performance reviews with all Sales Representatives to build more effective communications, to understand training and development needs, and to provide insight for the improvement of Sales Representatives’ sales and activity performance.
• Provides timely feedback to senior management regarding sales performance.
• Provides timely, accurate, competitive pricing on all bid requests submitted for pricing, while striving to maintain maximum profit margin.
• Maintains accurate records of all pricings, sales, and activity reports submitted by Sales Representatives.
• Assists Sales Representatives in preparation of proposals and presentations as needed.
• Controls expenses to meet budget guidelines.
• Create and maintain key sales processes and procedures.
• Adheres to all company policies, procedures and business ethics codes and ensures that they are communicated and implemented within the team.
• Participates in recruiting and hiring of Sales Representatives based on criteria agreed upon by senior management.
• Ensures that all Sales Representatives meet or exceed all activity standards for prospecting calls, appointments, presentations, proposals and closes.
• Delegates authority and responsibility with accountability and follow-up.
• Sets examples for Sales Representatives in areas of personal character, commitment, organizational and selling skills, and work habits.
• Conducts regular coaching and counseling with Sales Representatives to build motivation and selling skills.
• Participates in functional meetings including production coordination, project management scheduling, marketing and builder shows, and design capacity.
• Builds and maintains strong relationships with key clients, contractors and other stakeholders.
• Stays informed about industry trends, competitor activities, and market conditions to identify opportunities and threats.
Qualifications
Competencies:
Proven experience in sales management within the building materials industry, with a focus on truss manufacturing preferred
Experience with enterprise software solutions (CRM)
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret sales data
Strong understanding of customer and market dynamics
Proven leadership and ability to drive sales teams
Demonstrates ability to interact and cooperate with all company employees

Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, or a related field with 5-7 years managing sales in trusses or building materials industry-REQUIRED
