Express Employment Professionals has been asked by one of our clients to hire an Outside Sales Representative to fill an opening at a Port Saint Lucie, FL location.
as an Outside Sales Representative some of your primary responsibilities are to Secures profitable sales by building solid relationships with customers in assigned areas. Grows sales via new customers and increases account penetration by quoting projects and troubleshooting all situations impacting the customer base. Promotes products and conducts training to new and repeat customers within an assigned territory.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

1. Secures orders from existing and new customers by visiting, phone contacts and otherwise.
2. Actively prospects for new customers and reports results monthly.
3. Secures opportunities to quote on customers’ requirements and follows up quotations presented.
4. Communicates with all current and potential customers on a regular basis, providing solutions as needed, oversee all sales activity in the assigned sales territory.
5. Establishes professional relationships with owners, project managers, purchasing and key personnel.
6. Provides sales estimates and forecasts monthly as required.
7. Resolves customers’ problems, issues and questions related to bids, orders, returns, quality claims, etc. takes orders as needed.
8. Maintains working knowledge of key products, process, lead times, approvals, marketing, and promotional activities.
9. Immediately reports to Management significant (i.e. >$3,000) problems or claims.
10. Coordinates with the Accounting Department to ensure that all invoices are paid in full in a timely manner by customers.
11. Attends industry trade shows and meetings, as required.
12. Performs other duties and tasks assigned by management from time to time.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
Tends to work autonomously outside a formal office and in a formal team environment. Often travels to meet customers face-to-face, as well as visiting existing customers to maintain professional relationships. This role involves answering the telephone and using equipment such as laptops, phones, copy and fax machines
QUALIFICATIONS
1. Two or more years of college training or equivalent experience in wholesale distribution.
2. Minimum of 2 years industry related experience (Pipes, Valves and Fittings).
3. Must be disciplined, with strong work ethic and work with minimal supervision.
4. Strong verbal and written skills.
5. Willingness to travel and drive automobiles.
6. Basic computer skills (Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook)
7. Outside Sales experience.
8. Self-motivated, self-starter, sense of urgency, extroverted personality and well organized.
